The Hebrew Diaspora
"And they shall be wanderers among the nations"
The Eternal City
The Hebrews were
scattered by the Romans and refused re-entrance into the Land of Israel.
The Roman Emperor Hadrian renamed the city of Jerusalem "Colonia Aelia
Capitolina" in 131 A.D. and erected a temple to Jupiter on the Temple
Mount. The Greek word "diaspora" comes from the Septuagint translation
of the word "dispersion" in Deut 28:25
17 - My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
25 - The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed [dispersed] into all the kingdoms of the earth.
63 - And it shall come to pass, [that]
as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so
the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to
nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to
